Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how UMG Technologies, Inc. ("UMGT", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you create an account and use the customer portal at umgtinc.com to register machines and receive software and support materials.
1. Information we collect
- Account information you provide at sign-up: full name, work email address, company name, and (optionally) phone number.
- Machine registration information: machine model, serial number, current software version/revision, and any label you add.
- Authentication information: a securely hashed password, or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile and email address Google shares with us.
- Service and technical data: records of software deliveries made to your account, download activity, and standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and session/authentication tokens stored in your browser.
2. How we use information
- To create and administer your account and verify your registered machines.
- To deliver software versions and support materials to you securely, including enforcing time-limited download links.
- To provide customer support and to improve, troubleshoot, and maintain our products and services.
- To protect the security and integrity of our systems and detect misuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, registered machines, and deliveries.
3. How information is stored and processed
Our portal is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Account identities are managed with Amazon Cognito, application data with AWS managed databases, and software files in access-controlled storage, hosted in the AWS US East (N. Virginia) region. Access to customer data by UMGT personnel is restricted to authorized employees.
4. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our infrastructure (e.g., AWS) and, if you choose Google sign-in, Google as the identity provider, strictly to provide the service.
- Legal and safety purposes, where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
5. Google sign-in
If you use "Continue with Google," Google authenticates you and shares your name and email with us to create or match your account. Your use of Google's service is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
6. Data retention
We retain account and machine registration data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and time-limited download links. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can review and update your account information from the "Edit profile" page. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at legal@umgtinc.com.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage and cookies for essential functions such as keeping you signed in. These are required for the portal to work and are not used for third-party advertising.
10. Children's privacy
The portal is intended for customers who have procured or leased UMGT equipment only. This feature of the website is not intended for children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
